Suddenly Sunlight

Suddenly Sunlight

Written by: David Windle

Suddenly sunlight,
shining on rooftops,
lying along pavements
like blankets of smiles.

Suddenly sunlight,
breaking through treetops
like the shimmering fingers
of God's only child.

Suddenly snowfall,
each child with a snowball
rolled in their hand,
armies of laughter conquer the land.

Suddenly snowfall,
silence descends
and the earth is a chapel
of angels and men.
