Welcome to Primary Poems!
Primary Poems is a poetry website for children and teachers.
Anyone exploring poetry, particularly in primary school, can use this site.
Every poem here is suitable for primary school children, with a focus on Key Stage 2.
There are poems on the site about all different things, and in all different styles.
Whether you’re hunting for animal poems, weather poems, nature poems, poems about pets, poems about feelings, nonsense poems, playful poems and narrative poems, or any other kind of poem, you’ll find something useful on this website.
Some of the poems are silly, some of them are serious. Some of them tell a real life story, some of them say nothing much at all.
Most of the poems on the site have been written by me, David Windle; some of the poems on the site are famous, or by guest poets and are credited as such.
Feel free to get in touch to request a poem, suggest a theme, book a workshop or send in a poem of your own.
All the work on this site is © 2013 Primary Poems unless otherwise stated.
Please contact Primary Poems if you wish to republish any of the sites content outside of your school.
