Friendship
Only you would take my head
in the basket of your arms
and hold it against your heart
despite all the misgivings and misunderstandings;
Only you would take my shoulders in your palms
to stop them shivering even though you disagreed;
Only you would laugh with me for the sake of laughing only;
Only you will find an empty space when I leave.
Only you can I truly call ‘friend’.
