Bermuda
Undreamably white sand
Slides into the blue sheets
Of sea that change and change
But you can never see when,
Or tell that they hide
A quarry of red-gold stars
And coral pathways to the ocean’s bed.
Fish like mirrors reflect each other
Endlessly shoaling, coming and going,
Between rocks that hem
The shallows and the depths;
And the cat’s grin of the beach
Smiles up at the sun
As you front crawl along the horizon line
Stitching sea to sky with each new stroke.
